PUBLIC MOBILE - ASTEROID
Is it a bird? A plane? Nope, it is an asteroid crash landing into a cafe! Steaming from the heat of impact it has brought a crystallized Public Mobile logo all the way from outer space.

The Brief
01
Made in a collaborative effort with the creative team at Tantrum Studios - in this humourous ad I was in charge of the visual design for the main attention stealer, a large Public Moblie space rock. The clients requested it to feature their logo—either as a metallic structure or embedded within. To really sell the idea that the debris had just crash-landed, we had to also show some telltale signs of heat, hinting at its fiery journey through the atmosphere.
The Process
02
During the preliminary design phase, we kept things simple with a 2D approach to present the concept frames. This helped focus attention on the core design of the structure and the placement of the Public Mobile logo, allowing us to secure approvals before adding the realistic details and textures.
This first round of iterations would bring two options to the table: a metal design and a space rock concept. However, once the 2D concepts were presented, the clients struggled to visualize the final product which led me to revise the illustration style in a more realistic direction for the next concept iterations.

The Solution
03
To make sure everyone in the creative process was aligned, we switched up the approach for the illustrations to be aligned more with realism. The background environment and space rock were rendered using realistic textures, which helped the clients quickly grasp our vision. I then added the crystal texture and lighting on top, which required more customization to achieve the level of detail needed.
This workflow made it possible to develop the most accurate concepts while also allowing for quick revisions if necessary. The result? Multiple concepts of the space rock, all easy to understand for any viewer and ready to serve as a precise guide for the 3D team to bring to life.
